Sometimes we feel very alone and isolated on these journeys. We hear advice where we say, if you're going to work on something, keep it to yourself, wait till you achieve your goals and keep it close to the chest because you don't know what kind of negative energy will come your way or people will shoot your ideas down.
But I think the idea of telling a safe network, people that would push you to succeed, that are rooting for you, I really like that idea of involving them because there's a certain level of accountability there, but also making something fun. As Americans, I think we put our nose to the grind so much that we lose steam when we start to try to do something new.
And then it's even harder when it's something that we're unfamiliar with.
So I didn't tell all my friends in the beginning. Because I didn't know if I was even able to do the job, right? So, I did actually wait a year before I told my friends. I did wait, but what I did was...
